I absolutely hate paying top dollar for beauty treatments and often make my own at home for a fraction of the cost. There are plenty of items in your kitchen that can be used to make your own and it’s very nice to actually know what is in your products. This DIY Brown Sugar Scrub is great for using on your face, hands, heels and elbows… pretty much anywhere! It’s an all-in-one product that exfoliates and moisturizes at the same time. So head into the kitchen and let’s get ready to have a spa night!
DIY Brown Sugar Scrub
- 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Honey
- 2 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- Small Jar with Lid
In a small bowl add in all ingredients and stir well. If you measure the olive oil first and then the honey using the same measuring spoon it will help the honey glide off of the spoon. Just a little extra hint for you there! Place in a small jar and store at room temperature. You can double the recipe if you would like and it will last longer but I wouldn’t recommend making more than that unless you plan on having a spa night with the girls!
How to use your DIY Brown Sugar Scrub ….
Scoop a small amount out using a small spoon or spatula to avoid contaminating your mixture. Place in the palm of your hand and begin applying in a circular motion and lightly scrub for about 30 seconds. Then rinse well with cool water. Finally, enjoy soft, fresh skin like you came straight from the spa.Ā I found that the brown sugar, honey & olive oil scrub works better for me when used at nighttime. I usually skip the moisturizer on the nights that I use it. I would not recommend using this more than three times a week on your face. If you have sensitive skin you may want to cut the scrub time in half until you see how you face is going to react.
I usually make a couple small jars and keep one in the bathroom for my facial scrub and for heals, feet and elbows and then I keep another jar next to my kitchen sink. It works really well as a hand scrub after doing the dishes every night.
**When using on your face make sure you are very careful to avoid your eye area.
